40th Anniversary Alumni Reunion

The Department of Vision Care Technology, formerly Ophthalmic
Dispensing, at New York City College of Technology is celebrating “40
Years of Excellence” in opticianry education.

In Recognition of her distinguished service to Opticianry Education. The National Federation of Opticianry Schools presented the 2008

Dennis Tilley - Educator of the Year Award to Kristi Green from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College at the NFOS Meeting recently held in conjunction with the ABO/NCLE Educational Conference.

Once again Transitions Optical offered $500 Scholarships to outstanding opticianry
students through the Healthy Sight for Life Fund. The fund was established to help
ensure a better understanding and achievement of healthy sight. We appreciate
Transitions Optical’s continued commitment to opticianry education. A special
thanks to Carole Brattieg for her professional support and encouragement of our
next generation of eyecare professionals.

All of the winners projects were turned into posters that were on display at the ABO/NCLE Educational Conference. The posters will be on display at Transitions headquarters for next several months.  The top two winners were quests of Transitions at the ABO/NCLE Educational Conference.
